Wednesday (August 6): Etherex will launch the REX token on August 6. Etherex, a DEX developed by Linea, ConsenSys, and Nile, is an upgraded version of Nile Exchange built on Ramses v3 technology and a x33 token economics model. Its native token REX will be distributed as liquidity rewards to liquidity providers, with 100% of trading fees directly allocated to xREX voters. Users can exchange REX for xREX and vote for their preferred pools.
Brazilian legislators are preparing to debate a new cryptocurrency tax proposal by President Lula, which would impose a fixed 17.5% fee on all transactions, eliminating tax exemptions for small trading businesses and targeting decentralized finance activities through a measure effective in June. The deadline for this decision is October 8; if not approved by this date, it will become invalid.
Thursday (August 7): US President Trump signed an executive order imposing tariffs of 15% to 41% on goods exported to the US from 67 trading partners, raising tariff levels to their highest in over a century.
