Binance announces support for the Ethereum network upgrade and Hard Fork on May 7, 2025. To serve this upgrade process, Binance will temporarily suspend deposit and withdrawal services for tokens on multiple Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible blockchains, starting from 4:45 PM on May 7, 2025 (Vietnam time). The Ethereum network upgrade is expected to take place at 5:05 PM on the same day (Vietnam time).
The affected networks include: Ethereum (ETH), Arbitrum, Optimism, zkSync Era, Base, Manta, Starknet, Polygon, Metis, Scroll, Cyber, Metal DAO, Celo, and Worldcoin. During the suspension, users will not be able to perform deposit and withdrawal transactions related to the mentioned networks. However, trading activities (buying and selling) on the Binance platform will continue normally and remain unaffected.
Binance will handle all technical issues related to the upgrade process and restore deposit and withdrawal services as soon as the networks stabilize, without a specific notification about the reopening time.
Users are advised to complete deposit and withdrawal transactions before 4:45 PM on May 7 to avoid interruption. This upgrade is expected to improve performance, security, and scalability for the Ethereum network and EVM-compatible blockchains.
