The biggest addiction right now isn’t your typical drugs. It’s attention. People’s dopamine censors are fried, attention spans fleeting and the ability to build meaningful relationships is diminishing. Millennials experienced a life before this terminally online reality; the dial up modem sound with your parents screaming to get off the Internet so they can use the phone, physically talking to the Blockbuster cashier for Jurassic Park VHS rental or hosting a LAN party for a 16 person split screen COD/Halo binge.  But will Gen Z & Gen Alpha struggle given this has been the status quo since birth? That said, the biggest opportunities tend to arise from embracing new technology.
