I’m not sure I’ve ever seen so much wrong in one post.
So let’s have a history lesson and tell you all the things wrong with Ben’s post and Trumps claims about being “Scottish Nobility”:

Dr. Ben Braddock
@GraduatedBen
Trump is descended from Scottish nobility (Clan MacLeod) and his estate in Scotland includes the ruins of the castle that was birthplace of King Robert the Bruce, who defeated the English and restored Scotland as an independent kingdom.
Trump is the most powerful Scottish ruler x.com/mylordbebo/sta…

7. His clan was founded by a dude named “Ugly”
Last, but certainly not least, as I know Trump will hate it.
MacLeod means son of Leòd (Gaelic) or Ljótr (Norse)
Leòd was the son of Óláfr Guðrøðarson “Olaf the Black” who was the Norse King of the Isles.
Given that Leòd/Ljótr didn’t rule the Isles, we know he wasn’t the oldest son or was sent off to Skye for some reason.
And perhaps we find that hint in his name, which in Old Norse, is ᛚᛁᚢᛏᚱ
Which in Old Norse could mean “shining” or “bright” but in Old West Norse which his father Olaf spoke, it meant:
-ugly
-misshapen
-foul
Which is still preserved as the meaning today in the modern Icelandic “ljótur”
So he was likely sent to the Isle of Skye and started Clan MacLeod because he was disowned by his father for being ugly or misshapen.

So in short:
-Trump has no exceptional lineage in Scotland
-Doesn’t own a castle
-Only bought that golf course in 2014
-Cannot call himself a lord
-Is not descended from some great lineage
-The lineage he claims he was part of an off shot of
-The lineage wouldn’t pass through his mother, who grew up in a poor fisherman family
-the clan he claims to be a part of is more heavily Norse than many other clans
-the clan he claims to be a part of was literally started by someone called “Ugly”
(Hey I’ve got no bad blood against the MacLeod’s but look the fact Leòd was an uggo is going to drive Trump wild!)
