The Hong Kong SAR government will provide more than HK$10 billion in funding for the development of artificial intelligence

Report: Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Chief Executive John Lee attended the opening ceremony of the 16th Cross-Strait and Hong Kong-Macau Economic and Trade Cooperation Seminar hosted by the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong and delivered a speech. John Lee stated that Hong Kong is actively developing the artificial intelligence industry, promoting the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, and is committed to building an international innovation and technology center. In terms of financial support, Hong Kong has launched a 3 billion Hong Kong dollar AI-specific subsidy program to support local universities, research institutions, and enterprises in utilizing supercomputing center capabilities to drive research breakthroughs. Additionally, it will establish a 10 billion Hong Kong dollar "Innovation and Technology Industry Guidance Fund" to strengthen market funding guidance and promote the development of strategic emerging and future industries such as AI and robotics.
