Arthur Hayes Predicts Ethereum (ETH) Could Reach $5,000 by the End of 2025, Setting a New Historical Peak
In a recent statement at the Bitcoin 2025 conference in Las Vegas, Arthur Hayes – co-founder of the cryptocurrency derivative exchange BitMEX – predicted that Ethereum (ETH) could surge to $5,000 by the end of this year. If this occurs, ETH would nearly double its current price and set a new historical peak, surpassing the old record set at the end of 2021.
Arthur Hayes told Decrypt: "I think ETH could reach $4,000 to $5,000 this year. From my observation, Ethereum is currently the most 'hated' Layer 1 public chain in the market. And typically, when market cycles reverse, the most hated assets become the ones worth holding. So, I believe ETH could perform exceptionally better than other projects."
Although Ethereum has recently been considered weaker compared to competitors like Bitcoin and Solana in terms of price performance, Hayes still maintains a positive view of this second-largest altcoin in the market. He believes that undervalued assets may become highlights when capital flows back into the cryptocurrency market.
This positive prediction by Arthur Hayes also follows his previously optimistic perspective on Bitcoin. Specifically, in early May, he suggested that Bitcoin could potentially reach $1 million by 2028.
