"Trump May Have Committed Bribery Through Dinner" Temptation Question
"I Know Nothing About the Dinner... Trump is the Most Transparent President"
Mike Johnson, the US House Speaker, stated in a CNN interview on the 25th that he has no special information about the Trump token holder dinner held on the 22nd and claimed there was no corruption by the president through this event.
On the 22nd, Donald Trump invited 220 top Trump token holders to a dinner at the Trump National Golf Club in Washington DC.
Currently, the US Democratic Party is pointing out potential constitutional violations through the dinner. They argue that Trump may have received gifts from foreign governments or government officials that could be considered bribery, which would be unconstitutional.
According to the US Constitution, the president cannot receive any gifts from foreign governments without congressional approval.
When asked about potential constitutional violations through the dinner, Johnson said, "I know nothing about the dinner" and that he was "very busy focusing on passing the $1.6 trillion federal budget".
Johnson stated, "I don't want to comment on something I haven't even heard of, and I'm not sure who was there or what the purpose was." He emphasized that "Trump is the most transparent president in US history and has nothing to hide".
Earlier this month, Bloomberg reported that most attendees at the Trump token holder dinner would likely be foreigners.
Indeed, many international celebrities confirmed their participation in the dinner. Foreign attendees include Justin Sun, Tron founder; Sheldon Sha, Bitmart CEO; Australian crypto entrepreneur Kane Warwick; and Sang-rok Oh, CEO of Hyperism from Korea.
