Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang will visit Taiwan again this week and participate in Computex Taipei at the Nangang Exhibition Center on 5/20. On Monday (19th), he will deliver a keynote speech at the Taipei Music Center, where the public expects he will announce the location of the Taiwan headquarters, drawing significant attention.
Taipei City Highly Favored, Beitou Science Park Mentioned
According to current information, Nvidia's Taiwan headquarters will most likely be located in Taipei City, with the Beitou-Shilin Technology Park (Beitou Science Park) being the top choice due to its cross-domain industrial positioning and AI cluster potential.
Liu Pei-zhen, director of the economic database at the Taiwan Institute of Economic Research, analyzed that the Nvidia headquarters in Taipei City is "likely to be confirmed" and emphasized that transportation convenience is key to attracting employees. Beitou Science Park not only meets mixed industrial, commercial, and residential functions but also helps connect Taipei's AI industry and surrounding developments. Other potential locations in Taipei include the Taipei Expo Park and land near Songshan Airport, which are attracting attention due to their convenient transportation.
However, Nvidia has not yet officially responded, and earlier, when interviewed by media, Jensen Huang cryptically said, "If I say too much now, it would ruin the surprise..."
It is understood that Nvidia's site selection criteria are strict, requiring land area of over three hectares with top-tier green building and smart building certifications. More importantly, the new headquarters needs to be near key strategic partners like TSMC and have a convenient transportation network to connect Neihu, Nansoft, and Hsinchu Science Park.
Nearly 100 Job Openings in Taiwan
On the other hand, Nvidia's recruitment information has sparked social media discussions. According to the company's official website, Nvidia currently has 1,031 global job openings, including software and hardware engineers, warehouse production management, project managers, and internships.
The majority of job openings are in the United States, with Taiwan having nearly 100 (94) positions, ranking second globally, many of which have been recently added. Interested readers can visit the website to learn more.
Regardless of the final location of Nvidia's Taiwan headquarters, it symbolizes a new milestone in its development in Taiwan. It will not only create employment opportunities and inject industrial vitality but also consolidate Taiwan's core position in the global AI supply chain. Looking ahead, how Taiwan continues to optimize its investment environment, attract top enterprises, and effectively address energy and infrastructure challenges will be crucial to maintaining its competitive advantage in global AI deployment.
