Since Trump took office as the President of the United States, his economic and cultural policies, as well as allowing Musk to lead the "Government Efficiency Department" in cutting budgets, dismantling departments and staff, have generated significant resistance among people in the US and overseas.
Moreover, Trump imposed "reciprocal tariffs" on multiple countries on the 3rd, causing global financial market turbulence, with the NASDAQ index plummeting 11.3% in the past two days. Combining these factors has led to large-scale anti-Trump protests in multiple US locations.
Large-scale "Hands off" Anti-Trump Protests Erupt Across the United States
According to CNN reporting, protesters from 50 US states and millions globally participated in anti-Trump and anti-Musk demonstrations yesterday (5th), initiated by a democratic movement organization to respond to recent actions threatening freedom and rights.
This nationwide protest is called "Hands off". Currently, over 1,400 large-scale Hands off protests are simultaneously occurring across the US. Protest organizers stated that the Hands off movement aims to end this power grab game as soon as possible.

The event flyer read:
Whether you're mobilizing due to attacks on democracy, layoffs, privacy violations, or attacks on our services—this moment is designed for you. We are working to establish a massive, visible nationwide resistance action to address this crisis
According to Indivisible, one of the leading organizations, nearly 600,000 people registered for these activities, with some held in major cities like London and Paris. The movement is a collaboration of national alliances, including civil rights organizations, veterans, women's rights groups, labor unions, and LGBTQ+ advocates.
The organizers stated three main demands:
- End billionaire takeover and rampant corruption in the Trump administration;
- Stop cutting Medicare, Social Security, and other federal funds that working people depend on;
- And stop attacks on immigrants, transgender individuals, and other communities.
Trump's Approval Rating Drops to Lowest Point Since Taking Office
On the other hand, a recent Reuters poll found that Trump's support rate had fallen to 43% on April 2nd, the lowest since returning to office this year.
It's worth noting that this poll was conducted before the reciprocal tariff measures were announced, and subsequent polls might be even more severe.
